MBSA PARTNERSHIP WITH THE METRO STILL GOING STRONG AS PARTNERS BID FAREWELL TO CEO
On Wednesday 22 October 2025, the City sat for its Executive Steering Committee Meeting together with Mercedes Benz. MBSA and BCMM entered their 6th consecutive Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the 18 October 2023. The first MoU was signed in 2008 and has been renewed every three years.

The objectives of the respective MoU’s have primarily not changed. Chairing the meeting HOD for Economic Development and Agencies Noludwe Ncokazi said, “This morning we are here to speak on the progress of the implementation of the MoU, we know that in many organisations MoU’s get signed then there’s never any implementation or very little gets done, but in our case it has been different in terms of progress.” “We have been meeting on a quarterly basis just to account as well as to update each other and give advice on how to tackle some of these issues’” Ncokazi said. The meeting also doubled-up as a farewell of the outgoing CEO, Mr Andreas Brand and hand-over to the incoming CEO, Mr Abey Kgotle. An emotional Executive Mayor Princess Faku also made a speech to the outgoing CEO and also gave a warm welcome to the incoming CEO.
