CHANGING LIVES: METRO HANDS OVER 80 HOUSES IN MDANTSANE
As part of ensuring safety and well-being of its beloved residents, the Buffalo City Metro handed over 80 houses in Mdantsane NU 3, Ward 17 on Friday, 08 December 2023.

The Mdantsane cluster 1 project comprises of the design and construction of basic level of Services.

The services include roads, water and sanitation as well as 40 square meters top structures for the areas of Masibambane with 156 units, 161 units in Masibulele, 315 units in Dacawa, 561 units in Ilinge and 420 units in Velwano. In total, the Mdantsane Cluster 1 Project consists of 1613 units.

Giving her keynote address at the launch, Executive Mayor Princess Faku said: “The most fundamental things that the City must provide for our citizens are roads, clean water and housing. We pledge to install electricity into all these 80 Reconstruction and Development Programme (RDP) houses as soon as possible as we want everyone to have a joyous festive season.”

“We humbly urge everyone to demolish all of their former shacks as they move into these RDPs and to refrain from building shacks inside the yards in order to maintain the standard and cleanliness of these newly constructed RDP houses,” said Faku.

Professional Engineers Royal Haskoning DHV (RHDHV) were appointed by BCMM for the design, project management and construction supervision of the development of Mdantsane Cluster 1 project.
