BCMM BACK TO SCHOOL PROGRAMME CONTINUES
Buffalo City Metro Municipality together with the East London Industrial Development Zone (ELIDZ),Border-Kei Chamber of Business (BKCOB), Standard Bank and BCMDA handed over 200 pairs school shoes and 600 packs of sanity towels to learners of Skobeni Lower and Higher Primary School in Ward 45 and So

This is an initiative by the City’s Executive Mayor Xola Pakati in partnership with various stakeholders where they will donate 660 pairs of shoes to school learners in the City.
This is our annual programme we do at the beginning of the year by visiting about five schools in Buffalo City. This is our first time here in Sophathisana High School and I promise it will not be our last visit.
We all know that education is not the core function of the Municipality but our is to make sure that adequate service delivery is rendered to our communities. However, it is important that we lend a helping hand as these schools are in Buffalo City Metro and it is our children that attend these schools.

So with this programme we want to make sure that some of kids basic needs are met and they benefit the children.
"Today, we brought school shoes as well as dignitary packs for the girl child. We want these to motivate you and encourage you to wake up and come to for a brighter future.”

The handover took place on Friday, 21 January and will continue untiL the beginning of February.
