The first event was an awereness outreach program held at a Primary school to educate children, teachers and the broader community of Dimbaza.
This was then followed by an empowerment session held to motivate and encourage women in blue.
The awareness outreach program entailed motivational talks; gifts that included toiletries and sanitary towels; and clothes to the less fortunate schoolgirls. This was held at Nomhle Primary school in Dimbaza.
Addressing traffic services employees at the second event, the Metro's Portfolio Head for Public Safety and Emergency Services, Councillor Amanda Mnute said: "As women, we encourage and love one another, grow and develop each other, support each other and be able to perfect each others crown."
"It is our responsibility to fix each other's crown. Women are needed more in our society to be leaders. We need each other. Continue to make us proud, we love you."
Also encouraging women during the occassion, Public Safety and Emergency Services Department Head, Advocate Boniswa Mzimba said: "Today, we are gathered here to celebrate Women's month and to give support and assistance to those who are vulnerable or in need.
"Proverbs 22:9 from the bible says... generous person will be blessed, for they share their food with the poor". Another verse, Acts 20:35, says, "It is more blessed to give than to receive".
"Make a good difference, choose to love, choose to be remembered in a good way. Touch lives and be a blessing, rise up, be different women, and don't pull each other down."
"As we celebrate Women's Month, we say no to gender based violence... to abuse... to bullying of women and children. Let us report incidents of violence when it takes place in our communities."
"May God heal you. May He restore and redeem whatever you have lost...May He elevate you. May He honour, bless you and protect you and your family. May everything you have worked for never be destroyed. May He give you peace that surpasses all understanding. Happy women's month."
