BCM TO HOST CHINESE DELEGATION TOWARDS ATTRACTING INVESTMENT
As part of attracting investors to the Buffalo City Metro (BCM), the Metro will host a Chinese delegation this week at the East London International Convention Centre on 29 & 30 June 2023.

The two-day partnership and business conference seeks to accelerate economic growth by building partnerships between the sister cities. Buffalo City Metro has a twinning agreement with the City of Xinhua.

The Executive Mayor Princess Faku will welcome the Chinese delegation of 50 businessmen which comprises the Deputy Chinese Consulate General Mr. Changan Tang, the business sector, and investors.

Both the MEC for Economic Affairs, Environment, and Tourism Mlungisi Mvoko and the Executive Mayor Faku will address the conference on day one of the conferences.

Other speakers will include the following CEOs: East London Industrial Development Zone, Buffalo City Metro Development Agency, Eastern Cape Tourism and Parks as well as the East London Port Manager.

The City will use this conference to showcase Buffalo City Metro’s agricultural sector, opportunities in energy, electronics, and digital technology as well as the infrastructure and logistics sector.

Cooperative agreements are expected to be signed between the Metro, Chinese business and the City’s various business organizations.

The conference is also part of the build up towards the BRICS conference that South Africa will host in August.
