2019 Council Open Day
Following the successful roadshows for the 2019/20 draft Integrated Development Plan (IDP) and Budget, the Metro hosted the 2019 Council Open Day on Thursday, 16 May at the East London City Hall.

The main purpose of the day was to give feedback on key issues raised from ward, traditional leaders and business fraternity IDP roadshows. The IDP roadshows took place from April until May to communicate the plans of the City and future development to residents and stakeholders for the 2019/20 financial year. The open day is part of the public hearings before the adoption of the 2019/20 IDP and budget by Council. Delivering his keynote address, the Buffalo City Executive Mayor Cllr Xola Pakati said, “The IDP and Budget that we are to presenting today contains details of the measures that we are taking in positioning our Municipality as a servant institution. It is our blueprint of continuing with our work of changing the lives of our people for the better.‘
