BUFFALO CITY TO EXPAND AIRPORT ROUTE
Executive Mayor Cllr. Xola Pakati officially launched the Settlers Way and Military Road in Westbank, East London.

The multi-million rand project is a 7.6km stretch that seeks to upgrade the East London’s economic hubs’ existing road which is Settlers Way from the airport intersection to Fleet street intersection.
Cllr. Pakati highlighted economic benefits from this project. “This project will create economic growth, increase employment and the participation of the small and medium enterprises. One of the aims is our people to directly benefit from what we seek to do.
“Our intention is for a development that will assist our people, this is what we committed to do but that will not happen without us making an effort,” he said.
The rehabilitation will be done in phases and is expected to be completed in May 2023.
