The Chief Whip can be delegated by Council to manage council meetings and committee meetings, informs councillors of meetings called by Speaker and the Mayor. The Chief ensures that the meetings quorate, advises the Executive mayor and Council Speaker on the Council Agenda, informs councillors of important matters on the agenda, assisting speaker in counting votes and ensures that councillors' motions are prepared and timeously tabled in terms of the procedural rules of Council.
