Dear Members of the Media, Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality in partnership with Amandlambe Traditional Council join hands to celebrate Heritage Day. The event takes place on Friday 13 September in Fort Murray village near Ndevana location. On this day, all Cities residents will celebrate the rich cultural heritage of which we pride ourselves as a rainbow nation. On this day, South Africans are encouraged to celebrate their culture and the diversity of their beliefs and traditions, in the wider context of a nation that belongs to all its people. The City calls on all its citizens to celebrate the achievements, mourns losses, and redresses past inequities. The celebrations also seek to educate and deepen our understanding of society and encourages us to empathize with the experiences of material and symbolic restitution and promotes new and neglected research into our rich oral traditions and customs.
